Many news sites have misinterpreted the message of the defacement of CERN's LHC website left by Greek crackers.

As a result the Greek media, which have never seen the real message, translated the misinterpreted text leading to public misinformation.

Thankfully, a friend of mine, George Chlapoutakis (also known as DarkSYN)
got his hands on a genuine screenshot of the defacement containing the full message in the Greek language and proceeded to write an accurate translation.

The purpose of GST (or Greek Security Team's) intrusion was neither to disrupt the experiment, nor to humiliate the CERN admins.
Their statement was against their adversaries in the Greek underground scene and the only reason they chose this site was due to it's extraordinary traffic.

Ubuntu/Debian users can now stay up-to-date with vget's new versions via my PPA on Launchpad.
Add the following lines:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/zapotek/ubuntu hardy main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/zapotek/ubuntu hardy main

in your "/etc/apt/sources.list" file and:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vget

Et voila...you now have vget's latest version installed. :)

Available architectures are:

• AMD64
• IA32

I've noticed significant traffic originating from social bookmark networks towards several of my projects,
so I thought I'd make your lives easier by adding social bookmarking buttons to SegFault's entries.

vget has been added in Launchpad.
New releases will be added there as well along with a Bazaar mirror of Segfault's SVN repository of vget.

Launchpad also enables users of vget to ask questions and file bug reports as well as interact with the code via the Bazaar repository.

Furthermore, Deb packages will be added which can be obtained from my
"Personal Package Archive" using APT.

Everything is not yet in order as I'm currently organizing stuff but it'll all be ready soon.

Changes to SegFault's caching system were made so there is a possibility
that certain parts of the site may be unavailable due to bugs.

Also, Google Ads were added, to try and meet hosting expenses, as well as a Google search form.

Segfault now has an IDS.
Should anyone try to outsmart me he will be logged and his IP address will be published on your right, in the "Stupid people" 's list.
If the list is not visible we either truncated the logs or no one tried to hack this website yet, however the latter is very unlikely.

Although damage on Segfault cannot be inflicted, it's fun to watch people try.

Amazingly enough most of the traffic was international, even though the site was in Greek so the new SegFault.Gr is in English.

The website is totally rewritten and more cool stuff are going to be published.
Downtime is a possibility while we iron out random bugs.
